    vicemag: The Creators Sessions: Hit The Recording Studio With The Creators Project by The Creators Project Staff November 08, 2010 You’ve been making beats on your laptop and recording tracks in your friend’s basement for too long. Isn’t it about time you hit a proper recording studio with a producer who can take your music to the next level? Well, here’s your chance. Here at The Creators Project, we’re dedicated to supporting innovative artists of all kinds, from all over the world. And while we’re always looking to feature the hottest new tracks, art projects, and films, we’re also committed to helping those artists realize their creative visions by giving them the resources they lack. The Creators Sessions is the first step in that direction. We’re taking three musicians from three different regions—U.S., U.K. and Brazil—flying them to NYC, putting them up in a swank hotel and setting them up in a fully-equipped recording studio loft in Brooklyn for 5 days to let their musical genius run amok under the expert guidance of producer Mike Beck (Owl City, Semi-Precious Weapons, and The Jonas Brothers). Over the course of the week, they’ll collaborate on writing and recording 3-4 new tracks, and we’ll document their creative process right here on The Creators Project with behind-the-scenes blog and video updates. Think you’ve got the song-writing chops to hit the studio with The Creators Project? Here’s how to enter: From now until 11:59 p.m. ET on November 21, we’ll be accepting submissions from U.S., U.K. and Brazil-based musicians of all musical genres and styles. Our selected judges will review all entries using the following judging criteria: (i) musical talent; (ii) creative output/production quality; (iii) song writing ability; and (iv) performance ability (all equally weighted) and will select 6 finalists (2 from each territory). Then The Creators Project community will cast their vote and our judges will take into consideration your vote in making the ultimate determination of which 3 musicians (one from each territory) will ultimately be holed up in a studio together for a week. Those 3 winners will receive $5,000 and a trip to NYC for 7 days/6 nights in January to make some musical magic. Submission Guidelines: 1. If you are a resident of and located in the U.S. or Brazil read the Official Rules that are applicable to you here. If you are a resident of and located in the U.K. read the Official Rules that are applicable to you here.2. Submit an entry form, an mp3 sample of your music, and a piece of original artwork or photograph (it can be a photograph of yourself but it is not required to be) that will be posted next to your mp3 and potentially used to introduce you if you are selected as a Finalist. Submit here.
